Tomorrow is the last day of the year, so it's time for a 2012 recap. This year was super busy, but with fewer milestones than last year. 2012 was full of photography...and I mean LOTS of photography. Dozens of family and couple sessions, and 6 weddings! We also moved again, but this time just across our parking lot haha. We moved from the 1st floor to the 3rd floor and love it!
I also started a new school year and I'm currently knee-deep in the yearbook. It's been awesome staying at the same school because I started the year knowing what I had and where everything was. I've also been busy this year doing art displays.
I spent less time with friends than I'd like to admit, but I'll talk more about that later...
I also took some pictures of my cat this year...and my some I mean A LOT!
Before I talk about my goals for the new year, here are some photography and blog highlights from 2012:
Photographing this AMAZING 1st birthday party! The Knutsons are the best!
Another highlight was photographing Jedis and Knights! This was such an unexpected, fun, and unique experience.
Another highlight has been doing more art room posts. This is something I aim to do more of in 2013 too!
I've already done a post specifically devoted to my 2012 wedding photography, but another highlight was getting the opportunity to photograph a wedding in Miami! It was such a great experience, and I hope to do more destination photography in the future. I am so grateful to all of my 2012 photography clients. I feel truly blessed to have worked with every one of them!
RESOLUTION TIME:
If there's one thing I want to aim for in 2013, it's spending more time
with friends and family. I am always super busy with photo shoots,
editing, lesson plans, art displays, yearbook, and just trying to make
dinner and live life that I've neglected time with the ones I love. So that is my resolution for 2013. What are your goals for 2013?
Have a wonderful new year!

2012 Wedding Wrap Up| Raleigh, NC Wedding Photographer
I can't believe we are only 10 days away from 2013! I plan on doing a long post about everything that's gone on this year in life, teaching, and photography closer to the new year, but I wanted to make a dedicated post just for my 2012 wedding couples. I am so thankful for each one of them! I am a newbie photographer, and these amazing couples were so wonderful in helping me learn and grow as a wedding photographer. Wedding photography is not only a financial investment, it's also an emotional investment. These couples let me take one of their most precious days and document it, and I am so thankful that they gave me that opportunity. I also have to thank Kara from Kara Kate Photography, and my friends Courtney and Kristin for second shooting with me this year. I was so blessed to have 6 weddings in 2012, and I could not have done it without those 3 ladies! Thank you again to all of my brides for letting me come along on your big day, and I hope to work with you all again someday. Here's to my 2012 brides and grooms, and I can't wait to take on the 4 weddings I've booked so far for 2013!

Heard Family | Raleigh, NC Familiy Photographer
Before last weekend I hadn't seen Mr. Heard [my high school band director!] in about 8 or 9 years! It was great to see his family and meet his sweet little boy. He was the most attentive and easy going baby. I've never taken photos of a child who will constantly look at the camera, and I think it's because his momma is a little bit of a photographer herself :). I hope you enjoy the Heard family's tiny sneak peek!
I know baby J is not smiling in this one....but I just love his Alfalfa hair! :)

My room has become an art display factory. I have a huge display coming up at a hospital near here with 62 students' work going up!
